Cotton Club, legendary nightspot in the Harlem district of New York City that for years featured prominent Black entertainers who performed for white audiences. The club served as the springboard to fame for Duke Ellington, Cab Calloway, and many others.
The Cotton Club was a New York City nightclub from 1923 to 1940. It was located on 142nd Street and Lenox Avenue, then briefly in the midtown Theater District. The club operated during the United States' era of Prohibition and Jim Crow era racial segregation.
It's somewhere down the road, I'll get to it someday.
